The antimicrobial properties of silver ions within Optilene® Silver Mesh LP and Optilene® Silver Mesh Elastic are intended to help to reduce the risk of microbial colonization and biofilm formation on the surface of the mesh.
“In vitro” tests have demonstrated that Optilene® Silver Mesh LP and Optilene® Silver Mesh Elastic show antimicrobial activity against various organisms, including Escherichia coli and Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
